Thank you -- I enjoyed reading this post, and now I can't wait to read "The Blue Dress."

So good, Jo-Ann. This piece describes my relationship with my mother to a T. I individuated from her when I was 64. I'm 65 now, she's going on 88. It's still hard, but recently, she acknowledged me that she knew it was hard having her as my mother. She apologized. Doesn't mean our stuff is gone in a puff of relief and release, but it was the first time I accepted and it's the first time I believed her. Life is complicated. Life is hard. Mothers & daughters. I think it's the hardest and most powerful relationship ever. Good or bad. I'm going to DM you about the next story slam. xo
